Remuneration
Salaries can vary considerably across Asia, however, within the major global firms this has been harmonised to reflect purchasing power parity, differences in tax legislation and effective exchange rates.
The variance however does remain, with salaries in major developed cities such as Tokyo and Hong Kong considerably higher than those in more emerging markets. The salaries in these major locations are also typically supplemented with allowances for housing to reflect the rising cost of real estate.
