Big Four company KPMG has announced that it has appointed a new person to lead its people strategy and policy development.

Michelle Quest has been made UK head of people - taking over from Rachel Campbell in the role.

She noted that individuals are invaluable to the organisation and without them it would not be able to service its client base so effectively.

"KPMG has established itself as a leading employer in recent years and I am determined to build on this and to continue to shape our people policies," Ms Quest said.

She joined the company in 1997 from Robson Rhodes and in 2003 became a mergers and acquisitions tax partner in the firm.

The news follows the recent promotion of Anneli Collins to the role of head of tax policy in the UK - who has been tasked with improving the company's relationship with HM Treasury and HM Revenue & Customs.
