KPMG celebrates "excellent" trainee performances

A total of 97 per cent of the KPMG trainees that took the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) Professional Stage examinations during June of this year achieved a pass mark or higher, the Big Firm has announced.

The company noted that four of its trainees achieved the Subject Order of Merit for high achievement - more than any other training employer and something that may interest those that are seeking tax jobs at KPMG.

Director of professional qualification training Michael Walby described the results as "excellent".

"It is more important than ever to demonstrate to our clients the quality of our people," he remarked, arguing that the results are "compelling evidence" that the firm is a leading training provider.

Mr Walby added that the overall pass rate for its taxation and financial management trainees was 98 per cent.

Last month, PricewaterhouseCoopers launched a new business skills academy aimed at university students currently between the first and second years of their studies.
