KPMG has highlighted a number of locations that are likely to be of interest to businesses looking to outsource their IT services.

According to the firm's Exploring Global Frontiers report, 31 cities around the world are emerging as viable business process outsourcing hubs as firms look to cut costs in the economic downturn.

Featuring on the shortlist are Winnipeg, Belfast, Brisbane and Jaipur, along with ten locations in the Americas, including Indianapolis and Buenos Aires.

Those involved in high-level audit jobs who are thinking of outsourcing their IT-related services may wish to consider the locations suggested by the Big Four firm, with advisory partner at KPMG Shamus Rae explaining that many will become "stars of the future".

"The need to develop new, cost effective, viable outsourcing locations has been highlighted by the economic events of the past few months," he explained, adding that firms must ensure they are not "sacrificing performance" in order to reduce costs.
