PwC picks up auditor award

15/05/2009 PwC picks up auditor awardPricewaterhouseCoopers has been voted auditor of the year at the 2009 Real FD/CBI FDs' Excellence Awards, it has been announced.

The Big Four firm received the accolade following voting by over 500 finance directors, who had evaluated the performance of the auditors, banks, legal firms and technology businesses that provide services to British industry.

It emerged victorious in the Auditor of the Year (Large Six) category and head of assurance at PwC Richard Sexton said the business was "delighted" with the win.

He stated that the fact that finance directors led the voting made the award "all the more important", adding that it reflects the "hard work and talent" of its audit teams.

Last month, rival business KPMG was victorious in the Overall Best Private Sector Project and Change Management (Private Sector) categories at the Management Consultancies Association (MCA) awards.
