A former employee of the Financial Services Authority (FSA) has joined audit jobs provider PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to improve its regulation-related services.

David Kenmir will take up a senior role in the big four accounting firm's UK financial services regulatory practice (FSRP) department and will offer 20 years experience of management from the FSA and his previous employers.

With the economic crisis still having after-effects on the UK economy, the fast changes occurring in regulation of the financial sector will provide an increased workload for the company, which Mr Kenmir will help with.

Pat Newberry, chairman of the UK FSRP at PwC, said: "David brings invaluable insight into the way regulatory systems operate and how they will evolve over the next few years. This will be invaluable to our clients in helping them navigate the challenges that lay ahead."

PwC has clients in a wide range of sectors, including aerospace and defence, communications, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals, as well as the financial services industry.
